( Welcome )
Hi, I'm Chad Newman
Hi I’m Chad, I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, offering therapy to adults, young people aged over 16, and couples.
Firstly, thank you for being courageous and taking the first step towards finding help, which I know can feel quite scary. I'm a deeply caring and understanding person, firmly believing that we may all need some help at times in our lives and that this can feel daunting. Being heard and understood with no judgement enables and empowers my clients to experience and build their lives as they truly want them.
I’m an easy person to relate to, with a warm and gentle approach, whilst always being genuine and able to connect quickly with my clients. We can explore together at a pace that works for you, holding a deep interest in your life, your struggles and experiences. I work with various therapeutic approaches to help you unravel your thoughts, feelings, emotions and your whole self. Through insightful reflection, we can work together to understand these more and shed some light on how they show themselves in your life, your physical body responses and your relationship dynamics.
Sometimes this may feel challenging and painful, yet this is where true personal growth or change often happens. I offer a safe and confidential space where you will be truly heard. I will always be honest and compassionate, believing that we are all unique in our own way.
My dedicated private therapy studio is based on the outskirts of Northampton. I also work from a private therapy practice in Olney, Buckinghamshire.

What is Therapy?
Therapy is a safe and supportive space where you can take off the mask and finally say the things you may have been holding in for far too long. It’s not about being “fixed” - because you are not broken - but rather about being seen, heard and supported, just as you are.
You can explore with someone trained to listen and understand without judgement. The therapist is not there to give you advice or solve your problems for you – instead they offer a calm and compassionate presence while helping you unravel your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Sometimes therapy is about understanding the past, sometimes it’s about managing the present and sometimes it’s simply about getting to know yourself more deeply. It is not about being told what to do, it is about being helped to understand yourself better and make your own choices. There may be laughter, tears, silence, creativity and moments of realisation. What matters most is that this space belongs to you - it moves at your pace and centres around what you need.
Therapy isn’t always easy, but it can be deeply rewarding. It can help with emotional pain, relationship issues, life changes, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed. It helps you make sense of things, learn new ways of coping and build a stronger relationship with yourself. Perhaps most importantly, it reminds you that you don’t have to go through life alone.

Person Centred Therapy
Based on a very simple but powerful belief: that every person can grow, change and heal. My approach focuses entirely on your experiences, your emotions and your direction, always offering three key things: empathy, honesty and no judgement.
You lead the way in this therapy. I will not give advice nor push you toward solutions - I will walk right beside you, offering a calm and compassionate space for you to explore whatever’s going on. Over time, this helps you reconnect with your inner voice, build confidence in your choices and move toward the version of yourself that you truly want to be.

Transactional Analysis Therapy (TA)
A therapy that helps you understand why you think, feel and relate to people the way you do. It’s based on the idea that we all carry three parts inside us: the Parent, the Adult and the Child. These are different ways we respond to the world - sometimes we react like our younger self, other times like a strict or caring parent and sometimes from a clear, balanced adult mindset.
In therapy, we explore which part of you shows up in certain situations, especially in your relationships. You might begin to notice patterns and themes that repeat or things about your communication styles. This helps you become more aware of these patterns and gives you the tools to respond differently, from a more grounded and authentic place. It’s like learning a new emotional language that brings clarity and choice to you.

Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt Therapy is all about awareness, noticing what’s happening in the present moment, both inside you and around you. It encourages you to tune into your thoughts, emotions, body and behaviour as they happen, rather than getting stuck in the past or worrying about the future.
This type of therapy often involves creative and experiential techniques, for example speaking from different parts of yourself or exploring conversations with someone that you need closure with. The aim is to help you feel more whole and integrated, to resolve unfinished emotional business and to take ownership of your personal experience. You might feel challenged at times, but also more alive and connected to yourself.
Gestalt invites you to be fully present and in doing so, it offers the potential for deep insight and personal choice/change.

Creative Therapy
A gentle, expressive way of exploring your inner world, especially helpful when words don’t come easily. Whether through art, music, writing, movement, or other creative forms, this approach allows you to express what you’re feeling without needing to explain or make sense of it straight away.
You don’t need to be artistic, the focus isn’t on skill or outcome, but on using creativity as a tool for exploration, personal awareness and growth. Sometimes creating something through a drawing, a poem, a sound or using imagery can reveal truths that are hidden beneath the surface. It can help release stuck emotions, uncover new perspectives and make therapy feel a little lighter and yet so meaningful.
Creative therapy reminds us that growth and healing doesn’t always come through talking, sometimes it comes through making, moving or imagining.
